Vacancies: Government Now Recruiting 150 Researchers

Cameroon Government is recruiting 150 Researchers from Home and Abroad

The Cameroon Government has announced the recruitment of 150 Researchers both from within Cameroon and from the Diaspora. This announcement was made through a joint communique by the Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, and the Minister of Scientific Research and Innovation.

This order is a call for applications for the recruitment of I5O (one hundred and fifty) Researchers for the Services, Institutes and Bodies met which the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation exercises technical supervisory authority for the 2019 financial year.

This recruitment shall be open to holders of a diploma in design Engineering; Master of Science (Master 11) with a thesis; DEA (Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies); Doctorate degree (PhD) or any other equivalent diploma.

The distribution of positions shall be as follows:

Note: All documents should be certified by a competent civil, municipal or legal authorities and not more than 3 (three) months old from the date of submission of application files.

All incomplete or late files shall be rejected.


Application files received, sorted and classified shall be examined by a recruitment committee appointed by the Minister of Scientific Research and Innovation in compliance with decree n’ 80/275 of 18 July 1980 to lay down the rules and regulations of Researchers.  


(1) The final results of this recruitment shall be published through an instrument signed by the Minister of the Public Service and Administrative Reform

(2) Successful Contract Researcher candidates shall be recruited by the Minister of the Public Service and Administrative Reform on the proposal of the Minister of Scientific Research and Innovation, after notice of the aforementioned Recruitment Committee.

According to the communique, 30 positions have been assigned to candidates from the Cameroonian Diaspora, while 120 positions are allocated for candidates from within the country.

The candidates from the Diaspora can deposit their documents at the Embassy in their respective countries of residence.


1). Candidates applying for the post of Researcher Assistant must be 30 years old at most as at 1st January 2019.

2). Those applying for the position of Research Officer must be 35 years old at most as of 1st January 2019.

3). 40 years at most for the post of Senior Researcher and chief research officer.

4). Any candidate applying for a grade above that of assistant researcher shall show proof that he/she is occupying equivalent positions as researcher or university lecturer in a foreign state institution; be holder of a final university degree and a scientific publication at least equivalent to that required in Cameroon for promotion to the grade sollicited.

5) Applications from state employees (civil servants or contract employees) shall not be allowed.


Candidates are expected to submit their complete application files at the mail service of the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation or at the Ministry’s regional Centers latest Friday 30th August 2019.

Note: The dead line for submission of documents, initially set for Friday, August 02, 2019, has been extended to Friday, August 30, 2019.
