The Head of State, His Excellency President Paul Biya has told Cameroonian Youths that the state will continue to support them by providing one of the best educational systems in Africa. He was speaking during his annual address to the youths on the occasion of this year's Cameroon National Youth Day which took place on the 11th of February.
In his speech made on the 10th of February 2012 (the eve of the Youthday), President Biya recalled that the budgetary allocations of the ministries in charge of the different levels of education in the State Budget are among the highest. The National Youth day is celebrated on the 11th of February each year. This year''s Youthday was the 46th since its inception.

Cedric Badjeck, a 17 year old Cameroonian Footballer, last Thursday 09 January 2012 signed a three year football contract for the Netherlands Football Club, FC Utrecht. . The talented striker has been part of the youth academy of FC Utrecht since 2008.
This season Badjeck will be under the guidance of Coach Robert Roest.
The Technical Director of F.C Utrecht, Mr. Foeke Booy has expressed joy in having the 17 year old Cameroonian talent join the selection. According to Mr. Booy, Cedric Badjeck’s contract fits the very objective of F.C Utrecht’s Youth Academy. The Youth academy was created to help young players improve their skills in order to get them ready and ripe for the main selection of F.C Utrecht.
Badjeck’s contract according to the Technical Director is a testament that the young Cameroonian is now ripe and ready for the main team. Mr. Booy added that “it is up to others in the club and Cedric himself to get to the next level”.
The Head of Education, Mr. Henny Lee also indicated that capturing the young player is a good signal towards the future of FC Utrecht. Cedric Badjeck, Mr. Lee explained …“is the first player from the Youth Academy we have signed in 2012”. He added that “our youth Academy has a good level of talents and is on the right direction to delivering the first selection”.
The head of education expressed that there are more talented young players and as a result, he expects others to follow suit. He believes, with Cedric Badjeck’s positive attitude, it will be very possible for him to develop into a higher level.
The development contract signed, according to FC Utrecht Officials, is a good plan for the future for the young Cameroonian born.

Speaking during her New Year Wishes ceremony in the Hague, the Head of Mission, Ambassador Mrs. Odette Melono called on all Cameroonians living in the Netherlands and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to positively react to President Paul Biya’s request made during his December 31, 2011 End of Year message, in which he called on Cameroonians to make economic recovery a top National Priority.
On Friday 27 January 2012, Cameroonians and friends of Cameroon conveyed at the Cameroonian Embassy in The Hague to honour an invitation from the Cameroon’s Ambassador to the Netherlands Her Excellency Mrs. Odette Melono to jointly participate in the traditional End of year and New Year Wishes ceremony. The list of invitees included prominent Cameroonians; representatives of Cameroonian Associations and organizations in the Netherlands as well as friends of Cameroon. The ceremony began with the singing of the National Anthem in both English and French followed by a prayer by Dutch Reverend Pastor Hans Hafkens.
In her opening remark (her New Year wishes) Ambassador Mrs. Melono started by expressing that in the spirit of the traditional ceremony of New Year wishes and New Year celebrations, she and her staff were very happy for the massive turnout by invitees. She especially thanked the Rev Pastor Hafkens for his prayers and blessing for Cameroon and for always being there.
Referring to the Presidential elections of 9th October 2011 which was massively won by President Paul Biya, the Head of Mission added that “Cameroonians definitely made a choice of wisdom, stability, peace and development”.
Mrs. Melono pointed out that, “the year 2012 opens a new era of our historical landscape full of promise and marked by a ‘new dynamic’ which focuses on great accomplishments". These accomplishments she said “reflects the deep aspirations of the Cameroonian people to develop in harmony, unity and peace”.
In this perspective more than ever…Mrs. Melono continued, “Cameroonians in the Diaspora especially those in the Netherlands and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg should positively react to the Head of state’s request during his December 31, 2011 end-of-year speech in which he called on all Cameroonians to make economic recovery a real national cause”.
For Cameroon’s diplomatic mission in The Hague, the Ambassador insisted: “We shall follow the policy of promoting economic exchanges between our two countries” (Cameroon and the Netherlands). On the consular front, she added “we shall pursue the policy of close collaboration with all Cameroonians resident in the Netherlands and Luxembourg”.
To round up her speech, the Ambassador requested all present to raise their glasses for a toast “for peace and prosperity for our beautiful and great country, Cameroon” as well as for the host countries: The Netherlands and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The New Year toast was then followed by refreshments. The ceremony rounded up at about 21:00pm.

The Cameroonian Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands Her Excellency Mrs. Odette Melono will be receiving New year wishes from invited Cameroonians, friends of Cameroon and other friends in the Diplomatic circle.
The occasion will take place on Friday 27th of January 2012 in the conference Hall at the Cameroonian Embassy in The Hague.
Due to the size of the hall only invited guests are expected to attend.
