Internet in the North West & South West Regions Re-installed


Thursday April 20, 2017:

According to a press release from the Minister of Communication; Issa Tchiroma Bakary,  the Head of State, Paul Biya, has ordered the immediate reinstatement of internet which was suspended in the North West and South West Regions more than three (3) Months ago.

The release states that the decision follows the fact that the conditions that led to the temporary suspension of internet have greatly improved.

Residents of the North West and South West Regions can now re-connect with the rest of the country and the world through the internet.

The Head of State ordered the Minister of Post and telecommunications, Mme Minette Libom Li Likeng (née Minette Mendomo) to formerly request all internet service providers in Cameroon involved, like MTN, Orange etc. to re-instate internet immediately.

The communique by the Minister of Communications points to the fact that the Government is urging the population of both regions to be vigilant and continue to keep at bay extremists, secessionists and enemies of the republic.
