Pres. Biya Responds to Diplomatic Corps after Receiving New Year Wishes

Paul BiyaThe Diplomatic Corps and National Constituted bodies in Cameroon have presented New Year Wishes to the Head of State His Excellency Paul BIYA. Booth ceremonies took place on 3 January 2013 at Unity Palace in the Capital, Yaoundé.

Speaking on behalf of the Diplomatic corps, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Yaoundé and Chadian Ambassador to Cameroon H.E YOOSEM-KONTOU NOUDJIAMLO made a brief overview of the year 2012 both in Cameroon and the rest of the world. According to the Dean, the statesmanship of President Paul BIYA and his permanent quest for solidarity and harmony called for during the summits he attended or those in which he was represented has ensured a better evolution of things since his calls are being heeded by his peers.

In his response to the speech of the Diplomatic Corps, President Paul Biya reiterated his call for dialogue and peace in both internal and international conflicts like the ones in Syria, Mali, DR Congo and Central African Republic. Read Full Speech in English or in French.

The Head of State later received New Year wishes from the National Constituted bodies, beginning with the National Assembly, Members of Government, the Economic and Social Council, the Supreme Court, etc.
