President Paul Biya Appoints New Governors for Cameroon


The President of the Republic of Cameroon His Excellency President Paul Biya on March 14, 2012 signed a presidential decree appointing Governors to head the 10 regions of Cameroon. Some of the personalities appointed were either new or transferred from one region to the other. Others were either completely dropped, transferred to other functions or went on retirement.

The decree also raised four Senior Divisional Officers (SDO’s) to the rank of Governors. They are Mr. Awah Fonka Augustine (Extreme Nord Region); Mr. Ottu Wilson Joseph (North Region); Mr. Mijawah Bakary (west Region) and Mr. Bernard Okalia Bila (South West Region).

Below is the full list of Newly Appointed Governors for the 10 Regions

Adamawa Region –       (Mr. Abakar Ahamat)

Centre Region –           (Mr. Eyene Nlom) maintained

East Region                 (Mr. Samuel Ivaha Dieudonne)

Extreme Nord Region-  (Mr. Awah Fonka Augustine)

Littoral Region –           (Mr. Joseph Beti Assomo

North Region) –           (Mr. Ottu Wilson Joseph)

North West Region) –   (Mr. Adolf Lele)

West Region –             (Mr. Mijawah Bakary)

South Region –            (Mr. Jules Marceline (maintained)

South West Region –    (Mr. Bernard Okalia Bilai)
