President Paul Biya Sends Humanitarian Aid to Congo Following Explosions

PRESS RELEASE (English Translation)

Following a presidential order from H.E President Paul Biya, the Minister of Public Health, Mr. André MAMA FOUDA left Yaoundé on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 by a special flight of the Armed Forces of Cameroon to Brazzaville in the Republic of Congo.

Mr. MAMA FOUDA’s mission is to convey Humanitarian assistance from Cameroon’s HEAD OF STATE to the brotherly people of Congo hard hit by a series of deadly explosions in an ammunition dump in the neighborhood of Mpila in Brazzaville which has resulted to more than 200 deaths, 1340 injured and 5000 homeless.

The Humanitarian aid includes:

– 19 medical staff including specialists in emergency, trauma and Anesthesiology Assistance.

– 4 tons of drugs

– 7 tons of food
