Press Release from the Civil Cabinet of President of Republic of Cameroon

The Civil Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Cameroon has learned through the media, that the Paris prosecutor’s office would open “last week”, a preliminary inquiry following a complaint or a case filed by a certain association called “Union for an Active Diaspora” or in French “Union pour une diaspora active” against the Head of State of Cameroon, H. E. Paul Biya, “suspected of having an important heritage (assets) in France funded by embezzlement of public funds”.

The Civil Cabinet of the President of the Republic, which reserves the use of legal means against the perpetrators of this action, is awaiting the outcome of that investigation.

Already, the Civil Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Cameroon wishes to reassure the national and international community that the Head of State, H. E. Paul Biya, who has made ‘Rigour and moralization’ as the base or corner stone of his doctrine since becoming Head of State of the Republic of Cameroon on November 6, 1982, has no assets in France or elsewhere. Accordingly, the President of the Republic of Cameroon, H. E. Paul Biya, does not feel in anyway concerned by these denunciations.

Signed:

Martin Belinga Eboutou

Director of Civil Cabinet

Presidency of the Republic of Cameroon
