The Hague, 24 August 2026 — At the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Tom Berendsen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a Troika of African Ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom was received at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs for high-level discussions aimed at deepening cooperation and partnership.

The delegation comprised three distinguished envoys: His Excellency Madonsela Vusimuzi Philemon, Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa; His Excellency Liguemoh Ondoua Madeleine, Ambassador of the Republic of Cameroon; and His Excellency Mohamed Basri, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco. Together, they represented the African Group in this important diplomatic engagement.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on a wide range of matters of common interest, exploring avenues to reinforce the partnership between the African Group and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Discussions were marked by mutual respect, constructive dialogue, and shared commitment to advancing shared goals and addressing shared challenges.

Both parties expressed great satisfaction with the quality and openness of the dialogue, describing the exchanges as productive and forward-looking. They reaffirmed their shared resolve to strengthen existing ties and agreed to maintain and further develop regular exchanges to advance their shared priorities in the months ahead.

This meeting underscores the Republic of Cameroon’s continued commitment to fostering solidarity and coordinated action within the African Group, while also working to build balanced, mutually beneficial partnerships with European nations such as the Netherlands. Through Ambassador Liguemoh Ondoua Madeleine’s participation, Cameroon continues to play an active and constructive role in advancing Africa’s collective voice and interests on the international stage.

From breath-taking couture designs to stunning cultural expressions, this prestigious fashion event by Donatela Créations (Les Créations Donatela), celebrated Cameroon’s rich heritage and emerging fashion talent on an international stage, where Fashion, Culture, Diplomacy and Excellence came face to face.

Again, the Cameroon Embassy in the Hague was the glue, with the aim to create a forum, to help present Cameroon’s fashion to the world.

Depuis février 2026, la carte consulaire est désormais obligatoire pour toute demande de prestation consulaire. Par ailleurs, les demandes de cartes consulaires et de laissez‑passer — qu’il s’agisse des versions ordinaires ou mortuaires — sont désormais entièrement électroniques, leur traitement étant effectué via un système digitalisé conçu pour améliorer l’efficacité et la sécurité.

Cette réforme vise à :

• Moderniser la gestion de la diaspora camerounaise, et
• Renforcer la sécurité et la traçabilité des documents officiels.

Tous les usagers sont tenus d’effectuer leurs demandes exclusivement via le portail officiel www.evisacam.cm, en suivant l’ensemble des étapes indiquées sur la plateforme. Une fois cette phase en ligne achevée, les demandeurs doivent se présenter à l’Ambassade pour retirer leur carte consulaire ou leur laissez‑passer.

L’Ambassade souligne qu’aucune demande soumise en dehors de la plateforme eVisaCam ne sera acceptée.

Elle remercie par avance les usagers pour leur coopération et lancera prochainement une campagne de sensibilisation de proximité afin d’informer et d’accompagner le public sur ces nouvelles procédures.

Ambassadeur de la République du Cameroun auprès des Pays‑Bas et du Luxembourg

Since February 2026, a consular card is now mandatory for all consular service requests. In addition, applications for consular cards and laissez‑passer documents—both standard and mortuary—are now fully electronic, with processing conducted through a digitized system designed to improve efficiency and security.

This reform aims to:

• Modernize the management of the Cameroonian diaspora, and
• Strengthen the security and traceability of official documents.

All applicants are required to complete their request exclusively through the official portal www.evisacam.cm, following all steps indicated on the platform. Once the online phase is completed, applicants must present themselves at the Embassy to collect their consular card or laissez‑passer.

The Embassy emphasizes that no application submitted outside the eVisaCam platform will be accepted.

The Embassy thanks all users for their cooperation and will soon launch a community outreach campaign to further inform and support the public regarding these new procedures.

A wave of colour, culture, and diplomatic warmth filled the Marriot Hotel in The Hague as Her Excellency Ambassador Liguemoh Ondoua Madeleine delivered a powerful and heartfelt address during the 54th edition of Cameroon’s National Day diplomatic reception, hosted by the Embassy of Cameroon in the Netherlands.

A Celebration of Friendship and Equal Partnership

In her opening remarks, the Ambassador extended a warm welcome to dignitaries, diplomats, and friends of Cameroon, emphasizing the strong and equal partnership between Cameroon and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

She highlighted the deep and longstanding trade relations between the two nations, noting that the Netherlands—through the Port of Rotterdam—remains Cameroon’s leading global trading partner, especially in the export of agricultural products. Strengthening Ties Through Global Engagement

Representing the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul Biya, the Ambassador expressed profound gratitude for the evening’s turnout, calling it a reflection of the “excellent relations of friendship and cooperation” between the two countries.

She pointed to two recent milestones that elevated Cameroon’s international standing:

• The historic visit of His Holiness the Pope, which drew global attention.
• Cameroon’s hosting of the 14th WTO Ministerial Conference (MC14), a major diplomatic and economic achievement.

On the sidelines of MC14, she noted, fruitful discussions took place between Dutch officials and Cameroon’s Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development—talks that opened promising avenues for future investment and cooperation.

A future working visit, she added, is already being considered to deepen these emerging opportunities.

The Ambassador reminded guests that May 20th, Cameroon’s National Day, carries profound historical significance. It marks the triumph of unity—“dearly won thanks to the maturity of its people”—and remains the bedrock of the nation’s stability and development.

This year’s theme, “National Unity: Pillar of Our Defense and Foundation of Cameroon’s Development,” underscores the country’s unwavering commitment to cohesion, peace, and collective progress.

A Cultural Showcase of Colour, Fabric, and Heritage

The evening then transformed into a vibrant celebration of Cameroon’s cultural richness. Guests were invited to “enjoy the diversity of Cameroon”—from its fabrics and colours to its artistic heritage.

A dazzling fashion parade took center stage, featuring creations from Cameroonian designers and artisans. Handmade garments, bold prints, and uniquely crafted handbags drew admiration from the audience, offering a vivid glimpse into the creativity and craftsmanship of Cameroon’s cultural industries.
