C’était une exposition d’une des cultures les plus riches, colorées et significatives, qui en bref était une grande déclaration de l’ambassade du Cameroun pour célébrer et montrer au monde pourquoi le Cameroun est connu comme l’Afrique en miniature ou le cœur de l’Afrique.

L’ambassade accueillait également des invités du port de Douala, qui est le plus grand et le plus animé port maritime du Cameroun, servant de porte d’entrée clé pour le commerce en Afrique centrale. La délégation a rejoint l’ambassade pour mettre en valeur le Cameroun.

POINT FORT: Le Cameroun n’a pas seulement participé au Festival de l’Ambassade 2026; il l’a possédé. Le pavillon du Cameroun à la Zone 29 est devenu le cœur battant du festival, rayonnant de couleur, de rythme, d’art et de fierté d’une manière qui a fait vibrer La Haye bien après que le dernier battement de tambour se soit estompé.

Pourquoi? Parce que, le samedi 5 septembre 2026, l’ambassade du Cameroun à La Haye a présenté l’une des prestations les plus électrisantes de l’histoire du festival. Dans tout le Pavillon du Cameroun, le Cameroun a offert un spectacle culturel si riche, si coloré et si chargé d’émotion que les visiteurs l’ont décrit comme « un voyage dans l’âme de l’Afrique ».

MUSIQUE ET DANSE

La performance de tambour de l’ensemble Djembé Band Zamana a produit des rythmes, des percussions et des sons qui ont suscité de l’enthousiasme et attiré de nombreux spectateurs.

Ensuite, il y a eu une démonstration de danse traditionnelle par des danseuses colorées de la tribu Manyu de la région du Sud-Ouest du Cameroun, présentée par l’Association des Femmes Manyu Europe. La danse captivante et envoûtante, caractérisée par des mouvements gracieux et une profondeur émotionnelle, suffisait à plonger le public dans un monde de beauté et d’émotion. Les mouvements des danseuses étaient fluides, reliant chaque pas sans effort pour créer une atmosphère vibrante et énergique.

ART ET ARTISANAT

Diverses œuvres d’art et d’artisanat du Cameroun étaient également exposées. Cela témoignait de la richesse du patrimoine culturel et de la diversité du Cameroun. Ces œuvres se caractérisaient par des formes artistiques complexes et colorées qui sont non seulement fonctionnelles mais servent aussi de symboles d’identité et d’expression culturelle, reflétant toutes les traditions artistiques du pays. Les couleurs et motifs, porteurs de significations spécifiques, racontaient l’histoire de l’extraordinaire patience et du savoir-faire des artistes camerounais pour les créer.

EXPOSITION DE MODE

Le Cameroun, ce cadeau qui ne cesse de se donner, n’a pas déçu. Des mannequins étaient présents pour ajouter à l’enthousiasme lors de l’exposition de l’excellence de la mode camerounaise. Les spectateurs et visiteurs ont pu découvrir l’élégance, la culture et la créativité du créateur de mode deluxe primé du Cameroun, Donatela Créations (Les Créations Donatela).

De magnifiques créations de haute couture et des expressions culturelles impressionnantes étaient à l’affiche, contribuant ainsi massivement à célébrer le riche patrimoine culturel du Cameroun sur la scène internationale.

LES CAMEROUNAIS À LA MODE

C’était une journée d’exposition culturelle, et les Camerounais présents ont répondu à l’appel. Ils sont venus en tenues traditionnelles camerounaises flamboyantes ou en tenues reflétant les couleurs du drapeau camerounais. Le tout était accompagné de sourires et de camaraderie, ce qui a couronné une journée qui signifiait tant, non seulement pour eux, mais aussi pour l’ambassade du Cameroun et, par extension, pour la République du Cameroun.

It was an exhibition of one of the richest, most colourful and meaningful cultures which in a nutshell was a big statement by the Embassy of Cameroon to celebrate and showcase to the world why Cameroon is known as Africa in miniature or the heartbeat of Africa.

The embassy was also hosting guests from the Port of Douala which is the largest and busiest maritime port in Cameroon, serving as a key gateway for Central African trade. The delegation joined the embassy to showcase Cameroon.

Across the Cameroon Pavilion, Cameroon unleashed a cultural spectacle so rich, so colourful, and so emotionally charged that visitors described it as “a journey into the soul of Africa.”

MUSIC AND DANCE

The drumming performance by Djembé Band Zamana group, produced rhythm, percussion, and sound that generated excitement and attracted several onlookers.

Then, there was traditional dance display by colourful female dancers from the Manyu tribe from the South West Region of Cameroon performed by Manyu Women Association Europe. The captivating and mesmerizing dancing characterized by graceful movements and emotional depth was enough to draw the audience into a world of beauty and emotion. The dancers’ movements were fluid, seamlessly connecting each step to create a vibrant and energetic atmosphere.

ART AND CRAFTS

Assorted Art and Crafts from Cameroon was in full display as well. This was a testament to Cameroon’s rich cultural heritage and diversity. It was characterised by intricate and colourful art forms that are not only functional but also serve as symbols of identity and cultural expression which all reflect the artistic traditions of the country. The colours and patterns with specific meanings told the story of the extraordinary patience and skill Cameroonian artists employ to create them.

FASHION EXHIBITION

Cameroon as a gift that keeps giving did not disappoint. Models were on hand to add to the excitement with Cameroon’s Fashion Excellence on Show. Viewers and visitors experienced the elegance, culture, and creativity of Cameroon’s Award-winning luxury fashion designer Donatela Créations (Les Créations Donatela). On show were breath-taking couture designs to stunning cultural expressions, which in total, massively contributed to celebrating Cameroon’s rich cultural heritage on an international stage.

THE FASHIONABLE CAMEROONIANS

It was a day of cultural exhibition, and Cameroonians present answered the call.  They came in flamboyant traditional Cameroonian attire or outfits reflecting the colours of Cameroon flag. This was matched with smiles and camaraderie which is essence was the icing on a day that meant so much, not just to them, but the Embassy of Cameroon and by implication, the Republic of Cameroon.  

The Embassy of Cameroon in The Hague led Cameroon’s participation in the 2026 Embassy Festival, at Lange Voorhout in The Hague, The Netherlands on Saturday, 5 September 2026. The Hague, 24 August 2026 — At the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Tom Berendsen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a Troika of African Ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom was received at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs for high-level discussions aimed at deepening cooperation and partnership.

The delegation comprised three distinguished envoys: His Excellency Madonsela Vusimuzi Philemon, Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa; His Excellency Liguemoh Ondoua Madeleine, Ambassador of the Republic of Cameroon; and His Excellency Mohamed Basri, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco. Together, they represented the African Group in this important diplomatic engagement.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on a wide range of matters of common interest, exploring avenues to reinforce the partnership between the African Group and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Discussions were marked by mutual respect, constructive dialogue, and shared commitment to advancing shared goals and addressing shared challenges.

Both parties expressed great satisfaction with the quality and openness of the dialogue, describing the exchanges as productive and forward-looking. They reaffirmed their shared resolve to strengthen existing ties and agreed to maintain and further develop regular exchanges to advance their shared priorities in the months ahead.

This meeting underscores the Republic of Cameroon’s continued commitment to fostering solidarity and coordinated action within the African Group, while also working to build balanced, mutually beneficial partnerships with European nations such as the Netherlands. Through Ambassador Liguemoh Ondoua Madeleine’s participation, Cameroon continues to play an active and constructive role in advancing Africa’s collective voice and interests on the international stage.
