On Sunday, 12 October 2025, as Cameroonians across the globe cast their votes in the presidential election, The Cameroonian Embassy in the Netherlands has stood out for its exemplary organization and commitment to civic engagement. The Embassy of Cameroon in The Hague, The Netherlands, transformed its premises into one of the most efficient, welcoming, and user-friendly polling stations abroad—setting a gold standard for diaspora voting.

Under the leadership of Her Excellency Ambassador Liguemoh Ondoua Madeleine, the embassy undertook extensive preparations to ensure a smooth and transparent voting process. In the weeks leading up to election day, Ambassador Liguemoh convened multiple consultation meetings with representatives of political parties active in the Netherlands. These dialogues fostered collaboration and trust, laying the groundwork for a polling station that was not only functional but also inclusive and open to all registered Cameroonian voters residing in the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The embassy doors opened promptly at 08:00 AM, in line with ELECAM’s recommended schedule. From the outset, the atmosphere was one of dignity and enthusiasm. Ambassador Liguemoh herself was among the first to vote, arriving early with her full staff to oversee operations and lead by example. The polling station, manned by Madam Fonda Haga Halima, Minister Counsellor at the Embassy, operated in close coordination with party representatives to ensure fairness and transparency throughout the day.

Throughout the day, Cameroonian citizens arrived steadily to exercise their democratic right. They were greeted by embassy staff who embodied professionalism and hospitality—offering guidance, encouragement, and a sense of national pride. The energy was unmistakably positive, with voters expressing appreciation for the seamless process and the respectful environment.

Below is a photo gallery of early snapshots from the polling station that captures the spirit of the day: Ambassador Liguemoh, dressed in a graceful beige gown, preparing and casting her vote; Madam Fonda Haga Halima coordinating with party representatives; and embassy staff on hand to offer support and guidance to potential voters.
